My Life, My Freedom

I enjoy being an American citizen because of all the freedom I have. Freedom of speech is the most important to me because we can speak our own opinions and speak our own thoughts. Also, we can speak our own words and thoughts in general, which I consider freedom of expression.

With my freedom of speech comes my responsibility to be respectful about what I say. I do not have the right to lie. I do not have the right to spread false rumors about others. I do not have the right to cause mental, emotional, physical harm to others with my words. My freedom of speech isn’t 100% free, this could be called absolute freedom, but I am glad that we have these limits. If we didn’t we would have a lot of problems. These “imposed” limits protect me, my son, loved ones, and others.
